Date Nut Bar Cookies

3/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pitted dates
1 cup chopped walnuts

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add eggs, oil, and vanilla all at once, and stir to mix thoroughly. Stir in dates and nuts. Spread mixture into a 9x13 inch lightly greased baking pan and bake at 350�F for 25 minutes. Remove pan from oven and cut into squares while warm. Remove cookies from pan immediately and cool on brown paper. When cool, store in an airtight container.

Makes 48 cookies.
