Miss Mary's Old Fashioned German Cake
Crust
2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
1/2 pound butter
Mix about 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers and 1/2 pound butter until
it forms a paste. Press into the bottom of a cheesecake pan.
Filling
2 pounds cream cheese
5 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 cup butter (melted)
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
4 packages vanilla-sugar *
Mix at slow speed (approximately 8 minutes) until thickened. Pour
over crust. Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour.
NOTE: Vanilla-sugar is a German ingredient and is optional if you
can't find it. |
