Strawberry Sauce

2 C. strawberries, chopped

1/2 C. sugar

2 T. water (if needed)

In small bowl, combine berries and sugar, mixing well; let stand about 1 hour.

In small saucepan over medium heat, bring mixture to a boil; cook berry mixture about 4 minutes, mashing and stirring berries as they cook, and adding water, 1 tablespoon at a time, only if berries are not very juicy.

Serve warm or cold.

Makes 2 cups.
