Almond Cheese Ball Recipe
12 oz. cream cheese,
at room temperature
1 stick butter
1/2 C. sour cream
1/2 C. sugar
1 envelope plain gelatin
1/4 C. cold water
1/2 C. white raisins
1 C. slivered almonds, toasted
Grated zest of 2 lemons
Cream the cream cheese, butter, and sour cream together. Add sugar.
Soften gelatin in 1/4
cup cold water. Set it over hot water and dissolve. Add softened gelatin to
cream cheese mixture. Add raisins, almonds, and lemon zest. Put into 1-quart
mold and refrigerate.
When firm, unmold and serve with plain crackers, gingersnaps, or whole-wheat
cracker like biscuits.
