Kielbasa Casserole Recipe
3 lbs. kielbasa
12 oz. chili sauce
1 1/2 C. ketchup
3/4 C. boiling water
1 bay leaf, broken in half
4 whole allspice
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1/2 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. red wine (optional)
Place sausage in a large pan. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Simmer 15
minutes. Drain and cut into 1 inch pieces. Place sausage in a deep casserole
dish.
Combine chili sauce, water and ketchup. Add allspice and bay leaf. Pour over
kielbasa. Top with onion and sprinkle with the sugar. Bake uncovered at 400� F. for 30 minutes. Add wine and bake another 15 minutes. Remove bay leaf
and allspice before serving.
