Hot Cheese Rounds
1 loaf white bread
1/2 cup butter
1 3 oz. pkg cream cheese
1 egg yolk, beaten
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 T. crushed garlic
salt and pepper to taste
Cut the bread into rounds with a biscuit cutter. Butter the rounds
well on both sides and fry them like you would a grilled cheese
sandwich. Cool.
Cream together, cream cheese, egg yolk, grated cheese, garlic and
salt and pepper.
Spread the cheese mixture onto one side of the rounds making sure
you reach the edges so the toast doesn't burn. Put the rounds on a
cookie sheet, place under the broiler and cook till the cheese
bubbles and melts. (puffed and brown) |
