Raw Apple Cake with Hard Sauce
CAKE:
4 cups diced apples
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
2 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
HARD SAUCE:
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbl. flour
1 dash salt
1 1/2 cups water
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
To prepare cake, combine apples and brown sugar, then mix
thoroughly. Add oil, nuts, eggs and vanilla. Mix all dry ingredients
and add to batter. Place in a greased and floured 9x13 inch baking
pan. Bake at 350�F for 40-50 minutes or until done. To prepare
sauce, melt butter in saucepan. Add all other ingredients, and cook
until mixture thickens. Pour over warm cake and serve. |
