Gingersnaps
Yield: Approx. 5 dozen
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Cream shortening, brown sugar, molasses and egg till fluffy. Sift
together dry ingredients and stir into molasses mixture.
Form into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar, place 2 inches
apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10
minutes. |
