Sundae Cookies

Cream in large bowl:

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup shortening

Sift:

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

2 cups flour

Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.

Add:

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup ground nuts

1/2 cup drained crushed pineapple

Drop by scant teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 10 minutes.

While warm, place half of a large marshmallow, cut side down onto the cookie. When cookies have cooled, ice with the following frosting.

Frosting:

Cook 1 cup milk and 5 tablespoons flour in a saucepan until thick. Cool completely.

Cream 1/2 cup cold butter and 1/2 cup shortening well.

Add:

1 cup confectioners sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1-1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Cream well.

Add the cooled milk and flour mixture and cream very well.

Add 2 tablespoons marshmallow fluff to mixture and cream again.

Roll cookies in ground nuts or shredded coconut and place a half cherry on top.
