Jelly Bean Gems Mix in a Jar Recipe
2 C. quick-cooking oatmeal (not instant)
3/4 C. red and green jelly beans
1 C. brown sugar
1 1/2 t. baking soda
1 C. sugar
Beginning with the oatmeal, layer the ingredients in the jar as directed in the
introduction. Attach the following recipe.
1/2 C. creamy peanut butter
2 eggs
Contents of jar
Preheat the oven to 350� F. In a large bowl, cream the peanut butter and eggs.
Add contents of jar and stir until well-mixed. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons
onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing about two inches apart. Bake for 10 to
12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool for five minutes; then remove to a
rack. Store airtight for up to two weeks.
Makes 3 dozen.
