Oh Look! It's Santa....

It looks like Santa is inviting us in, let's go have a look.

I wonder if that is Santa's Book with all the names of the good little boys and girls. Mrs. Claus has offered to take us into her kitchen to see what she has cooking. She's been busy making gifts "From Her Kitchen".  Let's go see what's going on.

Mrs. Claus says now that we have seen her kitchen and grabbed a few recipes, she'd like to show us her Christmas Tree. Maybe have a cup of tea?

3/4 C. sweetened tea mix with lemon

1/2 t. allspice
1/4 t. ground cloves

Santa's Chocolate Spoons

6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
4 oz. milk chocolate pieces
20 to 24 plastic spoons

Melt semisweet chocolate over very low heat. Stir until it is smooth.

Dip spoons into chocolate. Tap spoons on side of pan to knock off excess. Place on a baking sheet that has been lined with wax paper. Refrigerate up to 20 minutes to allow chocolate to harden.

Melt milk chocolate the same as above. Allow to cool slightly. Drizzle the milk chocolate over the spoon tops. You can use a plastic bag that has a corner snipped off, if you desire.

Wrap each spoon separately and tie with a ribbon for gift giving. They look great in a mug.

Makes 20-24.

Amaretto Coffee Creamer

3/4 C. powdered non-dairy creamer
1 t. almond extract
1 t. cinnamon
3/4 C. powdered sugar

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix well to blend. Store in an airtight container.

Attach the following directions:
Combine 2 T. of creamer with 6 oz. of brewed coffee in a cup.

Makes 12 servings

Chocolate Mint Tea

6 Peppermint tea bags
6 cups (48 oz.) milk
6 tablespoons hot chocolate mix

Place tea bags in bottom of pan. Add milk and heat to just under boiling. Remove tea bags. Place one tablespoon chocolate in each mug and pour one cup of hot minted milk over chocolate. Serve with fresh mint leaf or peppermint stick candy.

Serves 6.

Santa's Ice Ornaments

distilled water
cranberries, sliced lemons, oranges or limes
round ornaments that separate

Wash ornaments and let dry. Pour the water in a bowl. Place some fruit in each half. Hold the ornament under the water and let fill. Close under  water. Leave a little room for expansion when freezing. Place on a baking sheet. Place in the freezer overnight.

To release ice balls, hold under cold water and remove the plastic balls. Place in punch just before serving.

Hot Spiced Afternoon Tea

4 pints water
1/2 t. whole cloves
1/2 a stick of cinnamon
1 oz. tea

cinnamon sticks

Add the spices to the water and bring to the boil. Pour onto the tea and allow to brew for 5 minutes. Stir, strain onto the sugar and stir until dissolved. Add the fruit juices. To reheat before serving (if necessary) place over a low heat-do not simmer or boil. Serve with cinnamon sticks.

Serves 12.

Santa and Mrs. Claus wish you a Merry Christmas!
